Welcome to Waves, our charming café that has been serving satisfied clients for 15 years. Nestled near the pristine beach of Vecāķi in Riga, our story is a blend of culinary passion and cultural fusion, brought to life by two dedicated individuals from opposite corners of the world.
Chef and Owner: Ash
Ash, originally from Australia, transitioned from a career in finance to follow his passion for travel and food, leading to the creation of Waves. Here, he experiments with various styles of cuisine inspired by his global culinary adventures. Renowned chefs and distinguished guests have visited the café, drawn by its rustic, cozy, and unpretentious atmosphere. Ash’s cooking is infused with energy and passion, always keeping the guests in mind. He also conducts popular masterclasses on spices and different cooking methods. Spending a few months each year in Australia and India, Ash sources and blends his own spices, ensuring that every dish is flavorful and unique.
Manager: Julia
Julia, our dynamic manager, is originally from Latvia. With experience in four-star hotels around the world, her deep-rooted love for hospitality and her warm, welcoming demeanor make her the perfect host. Julia’s dedication to creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere ensures that every guest feels like part of our café family. Her attention to detail and passion for excellent service make each visit memorable.
